Due to COVID restrictions, I was unable to be on set. Instead, the director and I spoke thoroughly about how to prepare the shot in my absence. I also made a simplified explainer detailing how would need the scene to be shot and why:
Director needed me to remove the rust on the side of the dome that housed the recreated lunar surface.

An unexpected request:
The director was unhappy with the building that housed the recreated lunar surface. We were creating a forward thinking video about the future of space travel and the building looked a bit worse for wear. I was asked if I could do anything to make the building look better.
I was able to “remove” the rust using a combination of photoshop and power mesh in mocha. To the left are before and after examples, and I uploaded a clip below:
